Immediate pivot issue with A31 makes precise focus impossible

I love the resolution and the abilities to switch between two lens figurations of a fly with this camera but when I try to use the app to navigate the camera direction to a specific point the virtual joystick allows no small incremental movements of the camera: either a slight tap of the screen or virtual cam movement joystick causes the camera to lurch suddenly to the furthest point the motors and gimbal are capable of reaching. 
trying to correct away from this by the gentlest tap in the opposite direction causes…the whole unit to whip to the opposite end of the pivot spectrum.

When I use the same BluRams app and motion tools with my older BluRams Dome Cam, no problems. Easy to move in wide sweeps, but also sensitive enough to allow me to adjust by a couple degree downward and a degree-accurate ability to point at just what I want.
