Three days of connectivity issues (constant buffering, lag, etc.)
AnsweredHello,
I own four Dome Lite 2 indoor cameras, all on my 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network with a strong signal. Until recently, they’ve been working without issue. But for the last two or three days now, their connectivity has been suffering, with constant lagging and buffering. This occurs on both the Blurams app and the client.blurams.com website, across all devices. I have tried restarting my devices, rebooting my Wi-Fi modem, clearing the app cache and even reinstalling the app; no change. Nothing else on my network has any connectivity issues; only the Blurams cameras. If the issue is on my end, I cannot identify the cause or fix it.
Are there any known connectivity issues with the Blurams network itself at the current moment? I can understand if that’s the case, but I would appreciate the confirmation.
Thanks.

Hello, We appreciate you reaching out to us with all the details of your connectivity issue. To help us better assist you, could you please provide your device Mac/SN (which can be found in your camera's [Preferences] - [Technical Information]) or your App account? Screenshots of the issue are also welcome if you have them available. Below are troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the constant buffering and lag: 1. Check network stability: Even though other devices on your network work fine, please confirm your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection is stable by streaming content on another device connected to the same network. 2. Adjust camera position: Try placing your camera closer to the router to improve the connection quality. 3. Update your Blurams app: Make sure the app has been updated to the latest version from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. 4. Adjust video quality settings: If you are currently using Full HD (FHD) mode, which requires more bandwidth, please switch to standard definition mode temporarily to see if the issue improves. 5. Check for firmware updates: Enter your camera's [Preferences / Settings] -> [Technical Information] to check if there is any available firmware update, please install it if an update is available. 6. Reset your device: If the issue still persists after trying all the steps above, you can reset the device and re-add it to your Blurams app to see if that fixes the problem. Regarding your question, there are currently no widespread known connectivity issues on our Blurams cloud network at this moment. Blurams Support Team 0 -
Hello,
Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, despite following your troubleshooting steps, the connectivity issue persists.
1) I confirmed that other devices can stream content on my 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connection without issue.
2) Two of my cameras are already right next to my Wi-Fi gateway. Proximity to the gateway makes no difference.
3) I’m using the latest version of the Blurams app from Google Play (v5.1049.4.952).
4) I tried setting all cameras to the lowest bandwidth & resolution settings. Oddly, the framerate got even *worse* at lower settings. I tried using different settings for both bandwidth & resolution; nothing improved the issue.
5) I checked, and none of my devices have any firmware updates available (firmware for all four is version “22.0519.*.*”).
6) I reset my devices and reconnected them. There was no improvement.
EDIT: I wanted to quickly mention something I noticed: Normally (before now), when a camera lags or shows the spinning “buffering” icon, the camera feed is unresponsive/frozen until or unless the connection is restored. However, with this present issue, when a camera starts lagging/buffering, if I exit and then re-open the camera feed, this causes it to immediately reconnect successfully and show its live feed … for a few moments, until the buffering/lagging returns. It’s as if the cameras just lose their connection, but re-focusing them instantly restores it, albeit temporarily. This is different behavior than normal, so I thought I’d mention it, in case it helps diagnose the issue.
I look forward to any further assistance. Thanks.
