Reconnecting S20C
AnsweredHow can I reconnect my S20C? The app no longer shows this specific model as an option when I go to pair a device. I have tried resetting the device by holding the button. The lights start flashing red. I go through the steps for "some other model" (I have tried several) since the S20C is not an option, and it creates a QR code to scan. I hold that code up in front of the camera but it never recognizes it or does anything. What can I do?

Not a great solution but I was able to get it added using my wife's iPhone. Fortunately the iPhone version of the app still lists that model for now. I suppose once the iPhone app drops it from their list I'm supposed to just throw the camera away? I guess I'll be shopping for a new brand at that time. Ridiculous.

I understand your frustration, and I'll do my best to help you resolve the issue with your S20C device. Since the S20C model isn't displaying in the app, let's ensure you're using the correct method to reconnect it. Here are the steps you should follow:
1. Reset the Device: Since you've already reset the device by holding the button until the red lights start flashing, that's a great start. This indicates the device is in configuration mode and ready to be added.
2. Ensure Environment Compatibility:
- Make sure your phone and the S20C are connected to the same 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. The S20C does not support a 5GHz connection, so verify your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz network.
- Place the device close to the router to ensure a strong signal during the connection process.
- Check that all necessary permissions are granted in your phone settings, including location access, as required by the app to access Wi-Fi information.
3. App Troubleshooting:
- Update the App: Ensure you have the latest version of the blurams app from the App Store or Google Play. Sometimes, updates add new device compatibilities.
- Select Appropriate Device: While the S20C isn't explicitly mentioned, attempting to connect using another option like QR Code (Wi-Fi Connection) or AP Mode might help since the method of connection is often similar across devices.
4. QR Code Scanning:
- When the app generates a QR code, place it 10-20 cm (4-8 inches) from the camera lens until you see a response (green light blinking or hear two beeps), indicating successful scanning.
- If unsuccessful, adjust the angle and distance incrementally to find the optimal scanning position.
5. Connection Mode: Try using AP Mode if QR Code connection doesn't work:
- Reset the device and follow AP Mode steps: Connect your phone to a temporary Wi-Fi hotspot named “CAM_xxxxxxx” created by the S20C, then use the app to connect the device to your home Wi-Fi network.
6. Contact Support: If none of the above steps work, consider contacting blurams support for direct assistance.
Please ensure you have followed these troubleshooting steps carefully. If you're still experiencing issues, I'd recommend reaching out to blurams support, as there may be specific updates or fixes that require their intervention. Let me know how it goes or if you need further assistance!0
