Camera panning
AnsweredWhen I first installed the app last October 2024, I was able to pan the camera around by swiping left, right, up and down when displayed in full screen/landscape mode on my phone, and it was very easy. Recently I found this no longer works, and now I can only pan the camera using the virtual joystick which is really hard - the camera flies around all over the place and it takes several attempts to get it to the right position. Basically I am now scared to move the camera at all and try to avoid it. Was there a firmware update or an app update which I didn't notice? Is there any way I can revert to the finger swiping method?

It seems like you’re experiencing an issue with the camera panning functionality, where the swipe-to-pan feature you used to have is no longer working, and you now have to rely on the virtual joystick, which isn't as convenient. Let’s go through a few steps to help you resolve this issue.
### 1. Firmware or App Updates
It’s possible that a recent update (either to the app or the camera’s firmware) has affected the camera controls. To rule this out, I recommend checking if there have been any updates recently. Here’s what you can do:
- Check for App Updates: Go to the App Store (for iOS) or Google Play Store (for Android) and see if there’s an update available for the blurams app. If there is, update the app to the latest version and check if the swipe-to-pan feature returns.
- Check for Firmware Updates: If the app is up-to-date, the next step is to check for a firmware update for your device. You can do this through the Device Settings in the app:
1. Open the app and go to the device's settings.
2. Look for the option called Technical Info or Firmware Update and check if a new update is available. If there’s an update, proceed with the update and see if this restores the swipe-to-pan functionality.
### 2. Adjust the PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) Settings
If you're using a PTZ-enabled device (such as some of the newer blurams cameras like A30, A31C, S15F, etc.), it’s worth checking if any setting changes have disabled the swipe-to-pan gesture.
- Go to Device Settings in the app, then look for the PTZ or Panoramic PTZ settings.
- Ensure that the correct settings are enabled and that swipe gestures are still allowed for panning.
### 3. Check for Gesture-Related Settings
Occasionally, changes in the app or the phone's system settings might alter how gestures are interpreted.
- Make sure that the gesture controls or touch controls are enabled in the app’s settings.
- Also, check your phone’s touch screen settings to ensure there are no restrictions or interference with swipe gestures.
### 4. Reset the Camera
If you’ve tried all of the above and the problem persists, you may want to perform a soft reset of the camera:
1. Power off the device.
2. Wait for 30 seconds.
3. Power it back on and check if the swipe-to-pan gesture is restored.
### 5. Contact Support
If after following these steps the problem still isn't resolved, please reach out to the blurams support team with details about your device model and the issue. They can provide further guidance or potentially identify whether a software bug is causing this issue.

### Conclusion
I hope these steps help you restore the swipe-to-pan feature or at least make the virtual joystick more manageable. If you’re still encountering difficulties, let me know, and we can look into more specific troubleshooting options. If you haven’t already, please confirm the model of your device and any recent updates to ensure the best solution.0
