Blurams App dropping my 5G mobile data constantly when trying to view cameras live
I am having a serious issue with the Blurams app for at least six months straight.
I have a paid unlimited 7 day loop subscription for all three of my Blurams 2k cameras and they are all set up correctly. I have 5G ultra unlimited data plan through Verizon.
The issue is, when I am away from my home and on mobile data, I can have 4 or 5 bars for 5G, but when I go to view my cameras live through the Blurams app, I get a message about dropped or lost connection, something about mobile or wifi.
When I go to live view a camera after closing the error message, I can see my camera in approximately two second spurts. For example, I can see my living room for one or two seconds, then I get a black screen for about 5+ seconds, then I can see my living room again for 5+ seconds, and it just repeats like this.
Also, the 5G icon in the top right corner of my cell phone, which is a Samsung Note 20 Ultra, constantly flashes from 5g, to it going away, then it comes back for a split second, then it goes away in synchronization to the live camera feed doing what I explained above. When I close the Blurams app though, the 5G signal stays lit up and all my other apps that use mobile data work fine! It is only the Blurams app that does this and it is driving me crazy!
The Blurams app is causing my 5G mobile data connection to drop, then reconnect, then drop repeatedly. It is 100% the Blurams app as all other apps will work just fine once the Blurams app has been shut down. Sometimes, I have to restart my cell phone though even after closing the Blurams app. It's as if the Blurams app causes my mobile data to go crazy. IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN I OPEN THE BLURAMS APP. NO OTHER APP ON MY PHONE HAS OR CAUSES THIS ISSUE.
I have called Verizon and they assure me it is something to do with the Blurams app.
This really needs to be fixed! I need to see my cameras as they are my home security! What good are security cameras if the dang app that lets you view them constantly makes your phone drop its 5G and 4G signal!!!! I AM SO PISSED OFF AND FRUSTRATED! I have tried everything. I am a computer repair professional with over thirty years experience and if I can't fix it, it has to be something with the coding for the app!

rkahles I have a similar background as yours. I experienced a problem similar to yours yesterday afternoon.
For reference I was on the T-Mobile 5G network with a Pixel 5a. Thw Mid-Atlanic states have been experiencing crazy warm sunny temperatures and I was sitting out in a parking lot approx. 20 miles West of Phila, PA.
To make a long story short, after having the camera app open and remotely viewing a brand new A31s cam keeping an eye on my new rescue dog, the phone began to overheat, initially bouncing the 5G connection until ultimately putting the phone into partial shut down due to overheating. I suspect the app must draw a good deal of the phone's resource. Given my former experience with cellular delivered digital signage in the earlier days, it does take major resources to reproduce real-time video particularly for a hi-def screen.
Just an observation. If this is an app related problem which we both seem to think and if it's related to the phone's high resource usage, a solution may be hard to find. To be honest, it's not the only app that overheats mobile devices nor does it seem to be confined to Android. My GF's iPhone 9 experienced similar problems at on the trip out to the store's parking lot where I had my problem.

Just to add to my post: I never bothered to take a look at the resource the camera app might be using. Rather than take my word for it, the next time you are viewing a camera with a windows based system, take a look at the task manager and see for yourself exactly how much resource the browser based app is using. VFW plus all those remote controls do take a great deal of CPU cycles.

I see the same. Most camera are OK. But two of them I get looping lost signal and simultaneously my phone goes from 5G to LTE and then connects and disconnects from LTE over and over. If I back out of the camera at the right time, the Blu Rams app even gives me the "you mist be connected" error like I have no internet.
No such issue if I connect to WiFi tho.

Same problem as the others in this forum. Everything seemed fine on day one when I hooked it all up, and then I went on vacation and wanted to check on my pets. Ugh. And I was in a kind of remote area so I kept thinking that it was my connection to Verizon but that wasn't it at all. After many starts and fails I figured out the app was totally screwing up my phone. Not just for the camera performance but for anything else I wanted to do with my phone. Once I deleted the app everything was normal again. I used the website interface instead of the app. It's really not very good but at least I was able to see the cameras working. Otherwise as others said it just keeps dropping you and dropping you and dropping you. Very very frustrating. I wish I had read this before I bought two of these!

yeh i have the same problem but really only with the camera that runs 5ghz not the 2.4ghz one when i try to run them but then the app does it as well so far no fix other than wifi and im willing to bed it has something to do with that. my wifi is set to 2.4ghz i think ill have to check. although i have never used the web interface i may try it now thank you for the tip. not to be that guys but r these cameras not made n owned by a Chinese company?ill have to look into this keep me posted. sadly really nice cameras but maybe the interface is wrong or they should of warned about somethings but that doesnt cause growth or help the bottom line.

I have been experiencing this issue for the last few days. It only started when I updated the software on my Samsung Galaxy fold 4. Since then it will not let me view my live footage for mobile data and I have to be on my Wi-Fi or close to it. This is frustrating since I paid for the 30-day Loop for unlimited cameras. Just like others have experience, it's the blue Rams app and nothing else. When I uninstalled the app phone works fine but when I install the app, I'm able to view live stream for a little while and then it starts giving me an error message when using mobile data again.Bluerams needs to keep their app up to date with phone technology

To everyone who is reading this thread and having the exact same problem as I was having. The only way I was able to get my issue resolved was to contact bluram's technical support. Once I was able to enter a trouble ticket and make them aware of the issue, the issue was resolved within a week's time for me. I hope this post helps you all! Best of luck!
