    This is the Blurams customer service team, glad to provide assistance.

    We're sincerely sorry for the inconvenience you've encountered. Many customers get confused when they see they have to pay for a subscription to watch video playbacks, and sometimes feel that they've been scammed, but if you think deeper, you'll know that's not true.

    First, we do offer a month of free trial to customers who just purchased a new camera. After that, 24-hour event playback option for free users who don't have an SD card.

    Please understand this: If you want to watch video playbacks, the footage has to be stored somewhere. So it's either stored locally on an SD card, or on our cloud service where you may watch anywhere with internet access. Also, our cloud storage can do one thing that SD cards can't --- data processing. That's what gives you motion detection, event gallery, smart notifications, and so on. These are what an SD card can't do.

    But, building data centers and maintaining servers cost money, in fact, a lot of money. Development, maintenance, electrical bills, broadband bills, and so on. To be honest, we cannot provide any service to our customers if we go bankrupt. That's why we charge for using cloud service.

    Also, we're not stripping our customers of the option to store data locally, we put an SD card slot on every device. And the reason for that is that we're confident enough that our quality of cloud service is worth the price, and we think after a free trial, the customers who actually need the plans, will be willing to pay for these services.
