Support for 1080p on 2k cameras

Is it possible to add support for 1080p video on your 2k ipcams?  It would greatly increase the number of devices that we view the camera's streams on.  

A 2k resolution is great as a high-resolution option for people/devices who can use it, but it kind of sucks as the only resolution option as only a couple of my devices are capable of receiving the stream.  None of the devices I'd hoped to use with these cameras are compatible as they (and most mainstream consumer electronics for that matter) top out at 1080p.
